Pigeon Blood Ruby
Description
This Pigeon Blood Ruby was specially sourced by MRSAE Jewelry for our client, carefully selected based on their requested specifications, including the preferred shape, carat weight, color, and overall quality.
The term “Pigeon Blood” refers to one of the most highly sought-after color descriptions in ruby. It is not simply about having a deep red color, the ruby needs to show a distinctive balance of hue, tone, and saturation, with a vivid, intense red appearance while still retaining brightness and liveliness. This is also what makes a fine Pigeon Blood Ruby relatively difficult to source.
Beyond color, we also consider the gemstone’s clarity, cutting, proportions, brilliance, transparency, and overall visual performance. Finding all of these qualities together, while also matching a client’s requested shape and carat weight, can significantly narrow the available selection.
The designation “Pigeon Blood” is not determined by appearance alone. When applicable, the color classification is assessed and stated by an independent gemological laboratory based on the gemstone’s color characteristics and the laboratory’s grading criteria.
Gemstones of this specification are available by sourcing request only. At MRSAE Jewelry, we personally source and grade each gemstone before presenting it to our client, carefully evaluating its color, clarity, cutting, proportions, transparency, and overall quality.
The sourcing process may take time, as our priority is not simply to find a gemstone that matches the requested specifications, but to find one that we believe is genuinely worth selecting.
As every natural ruby is unique and market availability constantly changes, pricing cannot be fixed in advance. The final price will depend on the gemstone available at the time of sourcing, including its quality, carat weight, characteristics, treatment status, rarity, certification, and current market value.
Each gemstone is thoughtfully sourced and selected specifically for the piece and for the person it is meant for.
Characteristic
Each natural colored gemstone or diamond has unique characteristics, including color, clarity, inclusions, patterns, and cut. Natural inclusions are not necessarily considered defects.
It may appear different in photos, videos, or on screen due to lighting, camera settings, viewing angles, and display settings. By approving a gemstone or diamond, the client confirms acceptance of its individual characteristics and condition.

CERTIFICATE
MRSAE may provide an independent laboratory certificate for selected gemstones, depending on the stone’s type, size, value, and eligibility for testing. Not all gemstones include certification by default. Natural diamonds are certified by GIA, while lab-grown diamonds are certified by IGI, subject to the diamond’s size and specifications.
