Each MRSAE Jewelry piece is developed through a collaborative design process based on the client’s preferences, approved specifications, gemstone requirements, and technical feasibility.
Design Consultation
Clients are encouraged to provide references, preferred styles, gemstone specifications, metal preferences, ring size, engraving details, and any meaningful elements they would like to incorporate into the design. Reference images are used only as inspiration. MRSAE Jewelry does not guarantee an exact reproduction of another jeweler’s work and may adjust certain elements to create an original design and ensure proper structure, proportion, comfort, and production feasibility.
Design Development
Depending on the order, the design process may include:
- Design consultation
- Digital hand sketch
- 3D design or computer-generated visualization
- Gemstone and diamond selection
- Material and proportion recommendations
- Design revisions before final approval
The quotation and estimated timeline may change if the client requests changes to the design, gemstone, dimensions, metal, ring size, or other specifications.
Design Revisions
The number of complimentary revisions may depend on the service or quotation provided. Revisions must remain within the original design direction. Major changes, a completely new concept, or repeated revisions beyond the included allowance may be subject to an additional design fee and an updated production timeline. A request may be considered a new design when it significantly changes elements such as:
- The overall style or concept
- Center stone shape or dimensions
- Setting type
- Band structure
- Metal type
- Number or arrangement of stones
- Major decorative details
Design Approval
The client is responsible for carefully reviewing and approving all final details, including:
- Overall design
- Gemstone or diamond specifications
- Metal type and color
- Ring size
- Dimensions and proportions
- Engraving
- Stone placement
- Finishing and texture
Production begins only after the required payment has been received and the final design and specifications have been approved. Once the design has been approved and production has started, changes may no longer be possible. Any approved changes that can still be accommodated may involve additional fees and a revised completion timeline.
3D Design and Visual Representation
Sketches, digital renderings, and 3D designs are visual guides intended to communicate the design concept. The final jewelry may have slight differences due to:
- Actual gemstone dimensions and proportions
- Metal behavior during casting and finishing
- Setting and structural requirements
- Hand-finishing
- Production tolerances
- Lighting, screen, and rendering differences
Colors, reflections, metal tones, stone brilliance, and scale may appear different in digital visualizations compared with the finished jewelry. These reasonable variations are not considered production defects.
Gemstone and Diamond Proportions
The final setting and proportions are developed according to the actual measurements, depth, shape, condition, and structure of the selected gemstone or diamond. A design may need to be adjusted after the stone is physically inspected or measured, especially for natural gemstones, irregular cuts, antique stones, or client-owned stones. MRSAE Jewelry may recommend adjustments to protect the stone and improve the jewelry’s durability, balance, and wearability.
Technical Feasibility
MRSAE Jewelry reserves the right to recommend, modify, or decline design elements that may affect:
- Structural strength
- Stone security
- Daily wearability
- Comfort
- Future resizing
- Long-term durability
- Production feasibility
Very thin bands, delicate prongs, unsupported stones, unusually low settings, or technically unsafe structures may require adjustment.
Client-Provided Concepts and References
Clients are responsible for ensuring that the concepts, logos, illustrations, symbols, or materials they provide may legally be used. MRSAE Jewelry is not responsible for disputes involving intellectual property, copyright, trademark, or ownership arising from materials supplied by the client. Where a client provides a highly personal concept, MRSAE Jewelry will develop the design specifically for that order. However, common jewelry elements, setting styles, stone arrangements, proportions, motifs, and technical structures cannot always be considered exclusive.
Design Exclusivity
A custom order does not automatically include exclusive design ownership. Unless a separate written exclusivity agreement has been made, MRSAE Jewelry may create future designs that share general jewelry elements, construction methods, settings, silhouettes, or design principles. MRSAE Jewelry will not intentionally reproduce highly personal details such as names, private symbols, family references, dates, initials, or a client’s unique story for another client. Exclusive design rights, where available, must be discussed and agreed upon separately before production and may be subject to an additional fee.
Design Files and Ownership
All sketches, CAD files, 3D models, renderings, technical drawings, production files, and design developments created by MRSAE Jewelry remain the intellectual property of MRSAE Jewelry unless otherwise agreed in writing. Design files are provided for review and approval only. They may not be copied, reproduced, transferred, manufactured by another party, or used for commercial purposes without written permission from MRSAE Jewelry. The purchase of finished jewelry does not automatically include ownership of the underlying CAD file, 3D model, technical drawing, or production file.
Use of Designs and Images
MRSAE Jewelry may photograph or document the design and finished jewelry for internal records, portfolio, website, social media, educational content, and promotional purposes. Personal information, private engravings, names, or identifying details will not be publicly shared without consideration for client privacy. Clients who require complete confidentiality should notify MRSAE Jewelry in writing before production begins.
Design Fees and Cancellation
Design fees, consultation fees, commitment fees, and costs related to sketches, 3D modeling, sourcing, or design development are non-refundable once the service has started. If the client decides not to continue with production after the design work has been completed, all design materials and production files remain the property of MRSAE Jewelry and may not be used for production elsewhere without written permission.
Final Acknowledgement
By approving the final design and proceeding with payment, the client confirms that they have reviewed and accepted the design, specifications, proportions, materials, gemstone details, engraving, and applicable production tolerances.
MRSAE Jewelry will produce the piece based on the final approved design and the actual technical requirements of the jewelry.
